Samuel Ch16 & 17: The Centre ground.

Last night of conference I was blessed during the worship. My thoughts went to thinking upon the marriage of Cana and being filled with the Spirit, the six water jars.

At what point did the water turn to wine? Inside the jars or when being carried by the servants. I couldn’t remember which meeting I had heard the question, and then I recalled. My thoughts went to Revelation Ch 22 v17: The Spirit and the Bride say, ‘Come’.

This is the Word of God, ‘Come’.

The very Word of God, is an invitation.

When the Bride is filled with the Spirt, in unison, she speaks the Words of God. The infilling of the Spirit is for unity, oneness with God. Therefore, when the Spirit and the Bride say together ‘Come’, this is the Word of God.

John the apostle, who has penned the last cannon of scripture, unto the Churches, responds to the testimony of Jesus, ‘Surely I am coming soon’, with the reciprocal response of one who has heard, ‘Come, Lord Jesus’!

What a great lesson for discipleship, simply reciprocate what you hear from Jesus, setting the example by obedience to the Word of God, ‘Let the one who hears say, ‘Come’.

During, the week I have continued reading through the book of Ezekiel.

It is quite extraordinary the focus given to the City of Tyre.

What is incredible is that today, their are modern buildings, testifying to the prophetic fulfillment of Gods sure word of prophesy. The modern buildings having been build upon the land mass created as a consequence of Alexander the Great having built a bridge to reach that part of the City of Tyre that was surrounded by the Sea.

Ch 28 is of great interest and it is evident that Ezekiel was at least familiar with Daniel.

It is of interest that historically, before Ezekiels day, the King of Tyre had proactively built King  Davids house. 2 Samuel Ch 5 v11, the very rooftop from whence he fell.

Whether Hiram was a Baal worshipper, as Jezebel was, I do not know. God affirms to David that he would make him a house. No reference is made to the house Hiram had built for him. And we understand that God was speaking concerning a Spiritual legacy as opposed to a physical one.

Had David not been so comfortable in his house of Cedar, would he have been more inclined to be at the front line in the battle?

The commentaries suggest that v11-19, maybe referring to Lucifer.

And in that respect we see some connection with the book of revelation and the City of Babylon and its traders. In that the Prince of Darkness, the beast, seems to be lurking within the violence of merchant traders driven by the bottom line.

V16: this verse stands out to me, and it has the application for everyman of that state to be avoided.

Being blessed in material things is not a bad thing. The Bible has chronicled numerous figures who prospered through trade, due to the blessing of God, not least the great patriarch of our faith Abraham.

But this verse gets to the heart of the issue. Abraham, did not choose the lush plains that led Lot into the Cities of Sodom & Gomorrah. Moses chose rather to suffer with the people of God, than to hold onto being a Prince of Egypt.

This verse draws how a heart can become taken up with a thing less central than the heart of the issue: Worship God.

We all need to work, and be honorable concerning eating a meal. The man who refuses to work should be denied bread if he is able bodied.

Trading is a necessary action.

But this verse shows how a souls energies can become engrossed with a thing that leads it away from the worship of God. The violence within this verse speaks to me of a consumption and acquiring that has become filled with lust. Hitlers evil acts, where fueled by a drive for efficiency, autobahns of industry, a drive for perfection without the worship of God.

Cain, gave a tenth, he had an eye on acquisition through trading of the other 9 tenths. Perhaps Abel, refused to give his firstborn in exchange for grain. We do know that God would not accept his offering. Whereas, Abels offering was as it was done in faith, the faith that peace with God was the greatest trade he could ever make. Abels offering contained a fuller faith in what God had already given, his act of worship believed that God would provide for his future Abel stayed true to the centre, that he needed a saviour a sacrifice for his sins.

This wasn’t license, it was a movement of fear akin to Noah, unto whom the Lord gave specific dimensions for the building of a house for the saving of his family. God instructed Noah what wood to use in the construction of this dwelling place, it never came from a lesser king.

Abel was kept from the horrors of Capitalism & Communism through his confession, ‘I need the provided sacrifice from God to be accepted by God, as I know I am more than capable of moving away from the conviction of sin and being consumed with the things of this World that do not really make a man wise, despite material acquisition.

His legacy spoke better things.

Through being given a Son he had a revelation of the Father, and called upon the nature of the Lord.

Seth was the start of the redemption line for mankind that God, sparred humanity through.

In Noahs day the whole world was filled with a violent lust of things other than the vital centre.

Yet, God revealed to Noah, that their is no lack of instruction for those who want to trade this worlds violence for a permeant residence with the Lamb of God.

Are you a member of political campaign group and long for a pure environment where the peace of God reigns. The gospel is an invitation, ‘Come’, but you must leave violence behind. Channeling all you energies into making a better society without the worship of God will not carry others into the peace that is God.

The gospel is always relevant as they are the words of eternal life.

Some weeks ago I saw a YouTube news clip of protests in Australia regarding Covid restrictions.

The crowd started chanting, ‘You serve us’ to the police.

I guess the Police may have been perplexed by this chant as their understanding may have been that that was what they were doing through endeavoring to enforce the governments edicts designed to protect citizens from Covid infection.

I would presume that a large percentage of those attending such protest events would not be inclined to protest against the erosion of freedom of speech concerning being able to affirm the process by which they were born was grounded upon the unique biological gender of their father and mother.

The crowd perceived the police to be restricting their personal freedom, and yet they are probably willing to embrace an ideological creed without any perception that it is illogical and an insult to the free thoughts of a man or women’s mind: A man is a man and a women is a women – common sense as 1+1 = 2.

We live in a world filled with confusion.

Anarchy has never come through submission to the Spirit of God. God brings order out of chaos.

Last night, I read pages visited, and then turned to my Bible which happened to be open on 1 Samuel Ch 17. My eye first glanced on verse 39. So I have been in these chapters this morning.

1 Samuel Ch 16 & Ch 17

God gives Samuel a commandment and he is obedient to that commandment.

The people had wanted a king, but God had rejected him as king as he had departed from the centre and was well down the road of facilitating violence through trading the central ground.

God shall provide a sacrifice. Not Saul. Worship is instigated through the love God has for his people. ‘I have provided myself a King’. This speaks into Jesus a man born King, who was also the provided sacrifice to redeem mankind from a violent end.

Samuel asks how he will go? And God as he did when he spoke to his servant Ananias simply affirms his sovereignty.

Are assurance comes through keeping on track concerning a sacrifice to the Lord. He takes care of the rest. We are called simply to obey the next step, as this always affirms his Lordship. A sacrifice to the Lord, is humility, accepting that you need to obey his instructions.

Obedience breaks the fear of your fellow man. Obedience to God breaks bondages in your life and lusts. Obedience breaks the cycle of violence, forgiving your enemies is the vital truth that Afghanistan has needed for more than millennia.

Scripture notes specifically by name that the first three sons of Jesse are rejected by the Lord.

God choosing David was for their own liberation. It was so that they too could have their eyes opened, as Paul the apostle was chosen so that other men might see! See what? See that God has provided the king of all Kings as the sacrifice needed to redeem the central Ground: God has shared with mankind the truth that sets him free, even his only beloved Son – the Word of God that gives eternal life – now and forever.

This truth cannot be traded, as God cannot be robbed of that which belongs to himself.

David is appointed to play music for king Saul.

David is also appointed to be Sauls armor-bearer.

This is chronological, this is before the giant is slain.

Saul sends to Jesse requesting the continued service of David.

Goliath comes out of the Philistines camp, and we are given a detailed description of his armor.

Davids harmony with the Spirit of God brought peace to king Saul. Harmony is the music of the land of Immanuel.

And he was loved greatly by Saul for ministering peace unto him, so much so that Saul made him his armor bearer. King Saul wanted the peace of God to be his shield and defense.

Scripture focuses on Goliaths armor and weapons. His upper body protection weights over 50 kg, a large sack of maize. And his spear head weight over 5 kg, just the tip.

This man must have been a giant physically primed for warfare, to be able to go into battle and have the ease of movement to be so confident of victory.

Goliaths armor and weaponry are stamped with trade!

Goliath was not a chancer. He had armor designed for maximum protection. Goliath did not go into battle without a giving of himself entirely to his course.

Goliath is systematic, not unlike a perverse choir who gave voice to their strategy.

The battle for Goliath concerned trading, it concerned servitude. Goliath was the might of industry, the violence of having no moral centre ground. God had promised the land to Abraham as a sign of the blessing unto all nations and families through his own provided sacrifice.

David however would not go into this battle with king Sauls armor, despite having been his armor bearer. David knew that the harmony that comes from heaven, is not matching fire with fire, violence with violence. David had his heart set on the centre ground, a dwelling place for God, a central place of Worship where trading was only a cry for mercy for those in distant lands.

Why had God provided for himself among Jesse’s sons?

David had retained within his heart the truth his Father Jesse told him.

David had been told about, Noah and Moses and the parting of the Red Sea. David knew about Joshua, and he certainly knew that Dagon, the Philistine God, had had his head chopped off when placed next to the central ground, the Fathers covenant Promises represented by the Ark.

David knew that obedience to God was far more to be prized than gains on Wall Street or footsie steps taking you higher. Had not the walls of Jericho come down through a shout of one accord.

David was anointed with oil, while wholly given to his Fathers course.

After being appointed the kings personal armor bearer and musician, it had not changed David one bit.

The three eldest followed Saul. They were aligned with Saul, that Saul had moved from the centre was absent from their observation, and that their Father was elderly in those days was not a part of their industry. Their strength and energy was invested in Saul.

David went back and forth to feed his Fathers sheep. He hadn’t moved from the centre, his heart was to honor all his father had sown into his life, the covenant promises of God, a blessing that turns Father unto their children and children to their Fathers, not aborting them because it may hinder trade or climbing up the payroll.

That isn’t a ministry of condemnation, as the women caught in the act testified. No it is the truth of Gods provided sacrifice, that God can be trusted to provide for all he has appointed for are lives. God is faithful.

God prepared David for what he called David to.

God sovereignly placed him a lead musician to King Saul and his armor bearer. And God had prepared him for battle with this big mouthed giant, through the attack of the Lion and the Bear.

Your servant will go and fight with this Philistine.

Your servant used to keep sheep for his Father.

‘You serve us’? David anointed to be king, ‘Your servant’, spoken to the authority ordained and still in power.

David is subject to authority, would David have refused to be vaccinated or would he have refused to have been registered in Bethlehem?

David is manifesting the centre ground. The heritage imparted from honoring a godly father.

David knew that the paw of a lion and a bear could not be traded with his own sparrows ankle of a bicep. David had seen the parade of Goliath, he was not ignorant.

But David knew that the realm of the Spirit of the covenant promises of God had a weight all the Philistine gods had to bow down too.

When David came into the ranks he came with gifts from his Father to sustain the armies of Israel. The only focus on numbers was concerning supplies from His Father for his brethren, no projection of personal strength and industry, the battle is the Lords. And why Eliabs anger was akin to trading the Spiritual for the fallen nature of man – Eliab was as far away from the centre of worship through obedience to Gods ordinances as king Saul was when he spared the sheep and king Agag.

Was not his job as the eldest brother to care for his younger brother. Was it not to honor his father who had sent supplies.

Verse 26: David isn’t focused on the reward. NO. David is focused on the second part, For who is this uncircumcised Philistine! They all knew his name, 40 days Lucifer tempted them. But we have a victor Jesus through whom we worship God: Thank You Abba Father, for your provided sacrifice. Who are you Satan, we have a saviour who died for our sins, the testimony of redemption through the blood of the lamb – I will not bow down and serve a lie.

David was not putting himself forward, as a arm of the flesh. And that is why the emphasis is heavily weighted on the second part of the question, the first part was supplies from his Father to the armies of Israel, it is a stirring in the camp of better things, an obedience to the Spiritual order that gives sight even to blind Pharisee who are trading the light of the great victory: JESUS, King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

David took his staff in his hand and chose five smooth stones from the brook and put them in his shepherds pouch. His sling was in his hand.

Perhaps that first stone gained momentum through one accord. The wind accelerating it, applying the truth that David served in his heart, ‘I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the Land of Egypt, out of the house of Slavery, you shall have no gods before me’.

Of course the Giant was slain, all it took was for a boy who honored his Father, according to the covenant promises of God. Abel followed the pattern obediently given to his parents.

They knew who Davids Father was, scripture clearly noted that king Saul had sent a request to Jesse. And Abner the commander of his army, knew that David had been appointed the armor bearer. But like Saul on the Damascus road they were blind and deaf to the Word of the living God.

David had asked ‘Who is this Philistine’, the whole army of Israel knew he had come up to defy Israel.

And Abner the Captain of the armies of Israel shows that he had no understanding that God never trades with Sodom, that his covenant promises of truth cannot be corrupted – the nature of God is light and has no darkness in it.

Who are you Lord? As your soul lives, O king, I do not know?

Honesty is a place of revival when turning unto God.

Abner like Jesses three eldest, is blindly following Saul. Whereas David still carried despite his promotion his Fathers business.

Abner confesses that he does not know where this comes from. Where this source of strength and courage comes from. Adner admits that the Spiritual songs of victory have alluded him as he had not understood the narrative of Abrahams centre ground – I AM your shield and exceeding great reward – no wonder David would not try to carry armor that had not been tested by covenant promises – honoring your Father and mother are words filled with blessings from GOD the Father.

Did king Saul honor his promises made before all the armies of Israel.

He tricked him concerning his daughter.

And Jesse, is later placed into safety by David, as king Saul would not honor his own oath by making his Fathers house free in Israel.

Sauls sin is exposed, polar opposite to the Father in Heaven.

When we exchange the centre ground we defy the honor of Gods nature and trade it for a lie.

Romans Ch 1 v18-v32

Saul descendants into consulting Samuel via a witch. Giving her his word that he will not destroy her. What a full circle sin is when we depart from the truth of the worship of God.

Jonathan who placed his own inheritance upon Davids heart for his Father, dies with his Father in battle.

Johnathon like Stephen, were godly spiritual men. But it is God that chooses, based upon his own provided sacrifice. Jonathan and Stephen are older brothers mirroring the centre ground, who died in worship – men viewing it as a defeat looking only at the outer appearance of a man and his crown.

Jesus was cursed at Calvary, a crown of thorns upon his brow. King of the Jews, nailed above his cross. It appeared like abject defeat, no power availing through this Spiritual giant of a man.

But an army of covenant seekers were fed, rather raised from the valley of the dead. Honoring Jesus’s victory is a delight to the Father, living in freedom is a sacrifice not vain. The Fathers House is freedom, Psalm 23: I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever – the correct centre ground – In God we live and move and have are being – let down in a basket to go into the great expanse, shining a light upon the Fathers faithfullness –  Freedom in Christ who has conquered ALL of my enemies, even the fear of death, who goes with me into that specific valley – he has gone before me in all things having the preeminence.

Taking a new kindness to violent empty men, a new kind of parched grain, one that can make you whole again.

What must we do to be saved – Believe in the centre ground, JESUS the risen Saviour who you crucified, but who God has appointed the supreme Judge of all creation.

Notes:

22 liters of parched grain = an ephah. – for his brethren.

10 loaves of bread, for his brethren

10 cheeses to the commander of their thousand.

Supplies sent from the Father to the brethren and armies of Israel.

The number 10 has always spoken to me about Gods appointed time. The servant of Abraham went with 10 Camels on his journey. Rebecca, served these camels from the well, not parched grain but living water. Wilt thou go with this man, was the question the servant asked, and in this is the calling of God, will you be an obedient servant, as the 8th Son of Jesse was to his Fathers mission. The servant rejoiced as his prayer was answered through a reciprocation of service. She was the firstborn of the 8th of her Fathers father. God waited a generation on her side that she would be akin to the root and ancestry of David.

Isaac plant & it was multiplied a 100 fold. But his crops where not the multiplier, the centre was the truth of Gods provided sacrifice. On the mount of the Lord it shall be provided. Have you seen this man? Have you seen Jesus, the firstborn from the dead, who has conquered sin, darkness and the devil. There was no longer a valley for Paul, he had been born free, Jerusalem the mother of us all, and he never departed from the centre of Gods grace again: The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen.

The day of Pentecost was 50 days after Passover. Five stones where picked up by David. I see the 10 loaves here as multipliers. By every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God.

The Captain of their thousand. I see the 10 cheeses here as the multiplier 3,000 should being saved that day.

And the new wine as a type of the better wine those outside where yet to taste.

David took his staff. He went into the battle with Goliath knowing that the Lord has a Shepherd heart, especially for the young and gender confused, being confronted by an outright lie from the prince of darkness.

When the day God appointed had fully come, they were together in one accord, sons and daughters.

Acts Ch 2 v21 – God fulfills his promised covenant of better things. It started with the promise to Eve of another seed, and Seth saw it reproduced, according to Gods kindness, seeing the revelation of the Father through being given a Son. We do not forsake the next generation, God forbid such a wicked imagination.

5 stones. The first five commandments end with honor your Father and mother. That is a commandment that is gender specific and equally weighted, according to the image man was made in. David sadly, broke all the other commandments due to a house he built that had no blueprint from heaven. The sacrifices of God are a broken and a contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. But he returned to the central ground when the prophet brought the conviction of his Sin. Repentance is the first step of obedience which honors the Father through his Son, Jesus Christ.

Who is this giant? Do they come bigger than the loudness of its modern day pride! The bigger they are the more confused and deceived they are. What God has commanded they will bow down too at the appearing of Jesus Christ, so never bow down to their confusion and lies.
