Acts Ch 1 the obedience of baptism

Acts Ch 1

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

Every person in that house was filled by the Holy Spirit & spake in tongues.

The one accord of those people was a demonstration of the heart of God unto all people, unto every people group and language God had divided mankind into at the Tower of Babel.

This is most fitting as immediately, God was speaking unto all nations near and far away. The day of Pentecost is as much for Korea and New Zealand as it is for Peru and Alaska.

Only the language from heaven can bring about the unity man knows in his heart is true and right. The worship of the true God is essential for the unity of man, as rebellion to God is an act of primary treachery against Him who has given all things. Therefore, man can only be unified without God in an evil manner & as evil is evil, man will not be kind to his fellow man when the unifier is a spirit of rebellion to the true and living God. This is true in Gaza where the religious ideology facilitates brutality unto their own people.

Well intentioned globalists cannot do without God what God is in essence, God is ONE, God is unity that is so united that sin, darkness, death and the grave could not separate.

Yes, Jesus experienced a real forsaking at the Cross as he bore the sins of the whole weight of Babel feet, that had walked into the promised land and with the religious elite crucified Him.

But as he had never sinned and lived a perfect life, there was no breach within the trinity and as such the unity of God as one, was gloriously transfused!! Was gloriously made one for all mankind…Ephesians Ch 2. If they repent & believe.

Jesus kept within himself as the Son of man unity with God apart from the sins of the world that he bore at Calvary. By a law Christ has reconciled man unto his Father.

By a law Christ has reconciled man unto his Father. A law of life, a law of oneness and unity, a law of Gods word not returning void.

Romans Ch 8 v38: For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation (satan himself, the father of rebellion), will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

If God is for us, who can be against us?

Why did the Father in heaven, touch the life of everyone in that house. Why was it impartial? Did they happen to just be within the correct portal to receive this blessing? Was it happening to be in the right place at the right time?

It will be interesting to hear of the individual journeys each made in life to be within that house that day.

But they were in that house and of one accord. Each individual in that house knew that the answer they needed for living their life in a hostile world came from heaven.

Each individual in that house knew that Jesus had died and rose again and yet they were gathered in that house due to his commandment.

Perhaps just under one week passed from this day of Pentecost and Jesus ascending into heaven from the mount of Olives.

3 days in the tomb

40 days bible study & then his ascension.

We should note that we are not informed of any of the Bible expository Jesus gave, akin to the Emmaus road, as we have been given the scriptures.

But it is documented that they were ordered, commanded, not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, he said, you heard of me; ‘for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now’.

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

Not the immediate restoration of the Kingdom to Israel. But the mandate to make disciples of all nations and families and language groups of this world.

The life they had witnessed in ministry for 3.5 years they were going to receive a connection to the same source of his Power, within himself the vine: Hence why the abiding is so important as we ourselves are not connected to the power supply outside of are union in Christ.

All in that house had sinned, all had been born in sin and had sinned in thought & deed. Yet, their connection to God as Father, was through Christ dealing with every principality and power that accused them before his Father: The Father has his perfect Son to present to every power of darkness, as his power is made available unto the fallen sons of men.

Peter the mouthpiece of Gods power on that great day, as his denial was swallowed up in the Word of God that had prayed unto his Father for him. Peters faith had not failed in the moment of personal crisis, as his faith was in the word of God the Father had revealed: You are the Christ, the provided Lamb of God we have all followed from Johns Baptism!

So how much more would that revelation abound given that it is the Word that appears on are behalf before the Fathers throne, a shield against every principality and power that protests against are usefulness.

How right and proper, that the restoration of the kingdom of Israel is after all the gentile nations have had opportunity to hear the Word of their salvation: Repent and believe upon the Lord Jesus and you shall be saved.

How right and proper in respect to the first Jewish Church sharing with other nations and languages the grace and glory of God who has made both one in Christ Jesus.

And does this not make us consider the return of the Jewish people to the land of Israel as being a sign of the end of this age. And while eschatology is not my strength perhaps this also feeds into why their may be 144,000 Jewish evangelists after the Church is raptured. The convex and concave love of God, the rhythms of loves heart beat unto all his creation.

So they were all in that house not by chance, but knowing that they wanted to be together to outwork the life and ministry God had for them collectively and corporately. Thank God, the Church is birthed as a collective, the individual callings and gifting are secondary to the togetherness of are unity.

But by way of spiritual principle they were all their through obedience to the Word of Gods direct commandment unto them. This is the house where Gods power is poured out.

The Church is birthed in the power of God due to that power having drawn them to obey his commandment.

Men of Galilee!! The angels knew where these men where from. But they had to be in Jerusalem on that first Pentecost after Jesus had died and risen and ascended.

Men of Galilee, Jesus of Galilee! But Jerusalem is that City to come out of the very heavens where God abides. Davids City, the City of the temple worship, the city linked to the High Priest Melchizedek but that City unto which Abraham took his promised beloved Son and offered him their in obedience to Gods commandment.

It matters to God that the Church was birthed in Jerusalem, as through it God is heralding truth unto all nations and languages of the earth: God is Father, Son & Holy Spirit and these three are One: Peters first sermon declares the trinity in Power. No golden dome can ever change the fabric of this Universe made through the Logos Son of God.

Currently, I am of the opinion that Peter was ok to have cast a lot and Matthias’s to have been called into the ministry. Acts Ch 1 allocates much to the biblical reasoning behind this, and did not this follow after 40 days of bible ministry by Jesus.

And it did not stop the Holy Spirit being poured out and so we know Matthias was filled with the Holy Spirit on that very same day as Peter, John and doubting Thomas.

Plus the Holy Spirit has not corrected Peters error in Acts Ch 6 now that they are filled with the Holy Spirit. As Matthias is part of the collective apostleship.

Yes I understand the reasoning concerning Paul, but currently that is my view & was not George fox an apostle in his day and was not Hudson Taylor an apostle in his day.

Obviously, Pauls apostleship was unique due to the revelation, it came not through the 3.5 years nor the 40 days, but it came through the teacher the Holy Spirit, that opened up to him the Old Testament scriptures. His apostleship was for all men – and that is why the 40 days ministry is not given, as it has already been given to be are daily bread.

And!

And is a Spirit filled word in creation and in Acts Ch 1 and 2. And suddenly, And divided tongues as of fire on each of them. And at this sound the multitude came together. And while staying with them he commanded them.

When was Saul/Paul filled with the Holy Spirit. I have always though when Ananias said ‘brother’.

But perhaps it is according to what Ananias said. First he regained his sight, so that he could see the pathway of the cry in the wilderness to be baptized in water as all men must!

Then he arose, thank God for resurrection life and power – this man was faced with an unimaginable future unless God had a provided sacrifice that included the depths he had gone too.

He arose and was baptized. He was obedient to the path all men must follow, even the footsteps of Jesus the Son of God went to be baptized as it was the Word of God that had come to that prophet of God in the Wilderness, and the Word of God does not return void.

It births many lights distinct from the darkness, light that overcomes the evil one and the deception is a promise unto all those of the faith of Abraham and that is a blessing unto all nations and families and not a barbarian and evil curse.

All true prophets herald the Lamb not mortal morbid man.

Palm Sunday: Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.

Matthias had been baptised in water, this we know. And perhaps that is why Matthias or Paul is the wrong discussion, but rather the Spiritual principle is repent and be baptized and you will be baptized in the Holy Spirit. That is the message and commandment and promise for all men – Go and make disciples of all nations.
