Jeremiah: ‘Home, the Promised Land’

Jeremiah:

Jeremiah was the son of Hilkiah, a kohen (Jewish priest).

The prophetess Huldah was a relative and contemporary of Jeremiah while the prophet Zephaniah was his mentor.

The prophet Ezekiel was a son of Jeremiah according to rabbinic literature.

Wikipedia also states that rabbinic literature often couples Moses and Jeremiah together, drawing on parallels between them, including the 40 year time span of both their ministries. To the extent that they wrongly imply to Jeremiah of being the prophet that Moses perhaps spake of coming after him.

Jeremiah probably died in Egypt, and we know that Moses never crossed over into the Promised Land. But we do know that Jesus died in Jerusalem, and so while Jeremiah does mirror the prophet Moses in some respects, that truth is because both their lives were types of the Christ to come.

It is helpful to consider the influences upon Jeremiah, and that he may have fathered Ezekiel. On that point I have no reflections at all, other than that God has revealed meticulously, his sovereign hand over his seed line of promise. It would make sense that a prophet such as Ezekiel had such a Father, just as we sense the influence passed down from Enoch unto Noah.

Having read the book of Jeremiah over the last couple of weeks, you realize what an important part of the Bible this book is. I am far more familiar with Daniel, but Jeremiah is essential to underpin that book, and given the length of the book I would attribute its length as being proportional to that which God deemed necessary. In other words, if such a thing can be said without diminishing the immeasurable wonder and power of any word from God, Jeremiah is more critical to are biblical understanding than the beloved Daniel.

Daniel & Joseph, both appeal to are youth, and the wonder of a good story, to go from prison to chief advisers to the King, with pure and honest heart inspiring a kindred likeness to be.

Where as Jeremiah as a Prophet and a person cannot be bunched into such a bed time wonder story. Not that their are not tons of bit size stories, it is packed full of many. But Jeremiah, starts with a very different narrative, Jeremiah starts not really with Jeremiah, but with GODS HEART PUMP of love, for a sick sick and adulterous people, who are rejecting their calling to a union with God.

GOD, GOD, who has made all things and given every breath is calling his chosen people, and they are totally ignoring his voice! GOD who formed the mountains, and the deepest seas, he would not be being fair unto his creation, if such behavior was not judged. God has unique ownership of all his creation, and if his voice is ignored, despite perpetual warnings, then he must act, or else the stability of creation is undermined by rebellion and GOD did not create this world to be at war with his commandment to love.

Perhaps, that is the most essential bed time story for all children!! But I think it is more apt for breakfast, and the dawn of the day.

Jeremiah, is an absolute springboard into the final revelation of Jesus Christ, as given to the apostle John on the isle of Patmos. The great theme of Babylon and its destruction, and its Judgement would have been embedded in Johns mind and understanding as preparation in the Spirit to receive from God this Word. John was known as the apostle of love, and he penned the heart beat of God, and he reveals the final text of scripture, the belove and the beloved, the bride and the groom, Christ & his Church.

Jeremiah, starts from this alter of union, from Gods perspective. And John is carried up to its culmination through the sacrifice of the lamb, the only entrance to union has always been his blood upon the promises of God. The victorious Word of God, unto all who believe and hear his voice, ARISE my fair one and come away, out of this world and into my love.

I have watched a couple of YouTube clips that discuss a signed statement known as the Dallas Statement. They highlight the error of the Southern Baptist leadership in having endorsed critical race theory.

‘the stability of creation is undermined by rebellion, if God does not bring judgement’.

Saul Alinsky, famously penned the influential book Rules for Radicals, in it he ensures to attribute to its source its inspiration, the underpinning philosophical source; SATAN, the first rebel against Gods total heart beat of love. Good influence has legacy, and so does bad.

We know live in a world that is governed by insanity. Where people are turning to vegetarianism for mortality yet view it as empowering to women to channel financial resources into terminating a baby girls right to life of the back of the mothers (in general) choice to have sexual union with a man.

Empowerment without responsibility for ones own choices, Pro choice cannot even stand up to its own campaign name, and the murder of babies is the truth of its alters.

To advocate science as the bedrock of academia and yet to deny biological, chemistry and physics all three core sciences concerning biological gender is clear insanity and an insult to the rational and logical mind.

Jeremiah, was called from his womb, to be a Prophet to the nations. This is fulfilled in the latter chapters of his book.

The Judgements of God, unto all who ultimately disobey his voice are clearly there to be read, and they have been fulfilled. Egypt & Babylon are no more, in respect to that which their where tangibly in the earth at that time.

Therefore, when the Southern Baptist convention embraces intellectual philosophies that come from Karl Marx, who just like Saul Alinsky wanted to see Judaic and Christian biblical truth annihilated, they have actually chosen the spirit of this world over and above Gods Word.

One clip I watched, had a professor explaining that Gospel truth was not undermined through the use of aspects of critical race theory. But he is quite wrong, as GODS Word says you cannot embrace this World and his Word, you have one or the other.

And the greatest tragedy of having the spirit of the world sweep over the Church, is that despite the acceptance it may find therein, it will not stand before the coming King, as a purified bride in prepared garments, and they did not love their lives so as to shy away from death- Berean version of the Bible.

The insanity of a world, endeavoring to produce a socially just world, without the Words of are Creator God: Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name, Father Forgive them, so ye love and forgive one another, every tribe, nation and especially within family.

If the justice of this world, is rejecting the voice of God, it will be devoid of genuine love. And a Church without Gods love, is salt that cannot produce any thirst, to a depressed and lonely world.

And that is the great balance for every believer and Church. A denomination or individual may have sins in its past, but humility with God, as with Jeremiah the prophet will not produce self righteousness but an ability to supernaturally love. Being willing to suffer for the truth of Gods word, for your union with Jesus, is loving this world, for at the Cross the love of God was poured out.

Abortion, forgiven at Calvary.

The selfishness of drug addiction, forgiven at Calvary.

Capitalism and communism the damage in furthering both systems, forgiven at Calvary.

The love of God manifested at Calvary.

But Calvary demands brokenness to rebellion to the Creators voice: ‘Follow me’, was heard by the Prophet Jeremiah long before the shores of Galilee.

Jeremiah is universally known as the weeping Prophet. And no doubts the language of the opening chapters contain the tears of heaven.

Yet, in my readings of this book, I was not struck with the weeping prophet analogy. Rather I was struck by the masculinity and authority of Jeremiah.

He was not, an odd man who wore only camels hair and spent all his day as a religious hermit, only to come out and pronounce the word of the Lord.

No, Jeremiah, was a mans man. He was a man of understanding, familiar and a central part of the mechanisms of the state. Jeremiah, was esteemed and respected and his authority was carried through his engagements within the corridors of power and influence.

He was not detached from all that was going on. He was fully engaged. He was not so heavenly minded that he was of no earthly use. Oh no, he was centered in the reality of GOD, and therefore carried the light in the midst of darkness.

Many rejected Jeremiah, and sadly ultimately rebelled against his prophetic ministry. Yet, even such you still hear a sign of respect unto the man Jeremiah, because beneath the rebellion is the knowledge that you are choosing a radically different truth, to walking with God in the Cool of the day. And that truth is the source of the prophets weeping.

Two characters really get to the heart of the problem, of sin and its deliberating impact upon the souls of men, Johanna and King Zedekiah.

Both respected Jeremiah and his authority as a man and as a Prophet. But both cannot bring themselves to entirely place their choices upon relationship with God and his Word alone.

Abraham, when entering Egypt revealed that his fears where a product of the fall. Abraham knew that the evil desires of carnal man, would see the fruit and desire it. Abraham, used his own intelligence and critical thinking to assess the situation and thought it best to embrace a lie, rather than to be a masculine covering unto his bride. But thank God, he never sacrificed at their alters.

And God lead him to the true knowledge of goodness, to eternal life: God shall provide for himself the sacrifice – the Word that bring blessing.

The famous negro spiritual song, ‘In the morning give me Jesus, you can have all this world, but give me Jesus’. How often that song, has lifted the gloom of a monotonous day in this world. You simply cannot have both, their are only two trees, and only one gives LIFE.

Egypt and Babylon, Gods chosen people compromised by the Spirit of both. And yet through the Prophet Jeremiah, GOD is showing his sovereignty over all the affairs of men.

The promised land, Jeremiah buys land, and he does collect it, before being carried away into Egypt. God is never static, and will quease out of a life all his intended purposes. A founder of are Church’s was healed for a short period of time of extreme pain, only for it to mysteriously return. But he is strengthening the faith of the saints, who are yet to face the trails of letter days. Gods allows such things to defeat the accuser and to champion faith.

Through his suffering he is an example of faithfulness to God in all things, and will not all the covenant or promises be fulfilled, in their time and season – will not Gods Love prove to be from everlasting to everlasting though we pass through valleys of sorrow and death. Is he not the great Shepherd of the sheep who has gone before us.

He obtained his land, Jeremiah, before he was carried into Egypt. God gave the prophet to the nations all he needed before his ministry unto all the nations while in captivity in Egypt. Did he not to Paul in his prison cell & John on Patmos.

Be not deceived, friendship with the spirit of this age is enmity to Christ. Bowing the knee to critical race theory is not the commandment of almighty GOD. And that is why it is a critical issue.

The prophet Jeremiah, is taken with the rebellious into Egypt, despite having been spared by King Nebuchadnezzar. God could easily have done the same again. See and hear the sovereignty of God revealed by a man who obey God, the captain of the Babylonian host gives testimony to GOD reigning over Babylon! Therefore, a Church is sacrificing its authority if it yields to a lower ordained ministration of his sovereign power. Gods will for his Church is higher ground, union with Him and his Word in love for a desperate world. And that is why Jeremiah is carried into Egypt with God rebellious people, God still loved them, despite their choices.

Perfect balance is only found in God, authority and yet humility.

Daniel was carried as a young man into Babylon, but he is lead to glean from the prophet Jeremiah and obtain an understating of deeper things, concerning the covenant keeping God.

God is speaking of his prophetic ministry throughout all ages, whether in Egypt, the midwives feared GOD above Pharaoh. In Babylon Daniel obeyed the ordinance of God.

Rome an empire ordained to other throw Jerusalem and destroy the temple, having not recognized Him who wept over its future. Is not Rome later Judged its City to barbarians fell, critical thinking would never have thought the ordered legions to be humbled thus. Perhaps Mars lost all its water, given the misery.

We reap what we sow. The people of God, had been called to be a light unto the whole world, and yet had embrace a lie over and above the tree of life. And thus, the world brings judgment to the house of God, having failed to be joined with the authority of God.

But HALLEUJAH, for are Saviour, risen and ascended, who took all the sins of Rome, and the priesthood and everyman, man, women and child – upon his shoulders – so that are yokes are made light through HIM eternally. For he is meek and lowly.

Will are suffering Church Father, will Jeremiah obtain a higher place gathered around the emerald throne. No doubts those who have pastured nearer shall be granted a closer place.

Home, the promised land, the journey of a Prophet the likeness of His Face.

Insanity is not allowed so that the Church may seek the safest ground. Judgement is brought so that we may repent and seek his face, and PRAY! Only this brings the dawn of day, only this causes God to open the windows of heaven, ‘If My People who are CALLED BY MY NAME’.

Gods has always taken obedience to his voice as a critical issue of life or death – it can be no other way, he is the Creator of all things that exist – and heaven will be orchestrated only with the harmony of love.

We must learn to hear its cords upon this earth.

And they were gathered together in one accord & everyone outside heard the prophetic voice of God in their own tongue and language. A Church set upon a hill.

The obedience of the Rechabites.

Ebed-melech the Ethiopian.

Baruch – Do not seek great things for yourself? Seek them not. But I will give you your life as a prize of war. A word to all forms of arrogance, whether its rubbing shoulders with this world or as a scribe of almighty God.

Are these not unchanging principles, God will not change, nor do the principles upon which God builds the true Church.

Daniel is carried in Babylon, this represents the future, it is next step in the biblical journey, Daniel is looking through a window praying for an Immanuel to come down an fulfill the covenant promises.

Jeremiah, he could have journeyed anywhere, but goes with them into Egypt.

This is regressive, in repeat to the biblical narrative, God had he not brought them out of Egypt.

Backslidden, prodigal, chasing comfort, success or addiction.

Jeremiah is a Prophetic voice to those who have turned back to the carnal man and nature. The land he owned, was the real promised land, procured a Calvary: JESUS Christ the same, yesterday, today and forever. What had been written concerning a new covenant, would surely come to pass: Today, if you will hear his voice, hardened not your hearts.

Are local meeting was a real affirmation of this post, the children’s section not least having the story of Daniels three friends thrown into the sevenfold fire. Who would not bow down, despite the edict being to all nations.

– I have a new 2.2 mile run that goes through some woodland. With the sunshine etc, walking through it made me appreciate the garden of Eden. God is present in all his creation.

their not a clear distinction.
