John Ch 4 – Consistent word and testimony

The women at the well in Samaria, and the towns folk, appear to have received him and proclaimed that he was indeed the ‘Saviour of the World’, entirely based upon converse with him.

When he arrived at Cana in Galilee, perhaps his response to the official reveals the honor he had been held with in Samaria. ‘Unless you see signs and wonders you will not believe’.

Those who had received him, entirely based upon his word, proclaimed that he was indeed the ‘Savior of the World’. To be the savior of the world, necessitates a consistently and lack of partiality. This is implicit in the statement, and the Samaritans where responding from their hearts to one who had received them with love and grace, despite the contrast.

The Samaritans recognized that this was the message that all the world needed. They realized that this message, broke down dividing walls, healed families and brought peace between warring factions.  This presses down into the issue of original sin, that impacts all nations in a consistent manner, whether endeavoring to worship God up Mount Everest or at the Temple in Jerusalem.

Transformation came to these people, as it did later under Philips ministry, due to the preaching of the word, and implicit to that word was its distinctive ability to save. To be saved is a constructive statement, it implies a restoration unto the original design plan. Salvation, reveals that Joy, and its fullness are from the springs of a God who has made man in his image, consistent with his own character.

Man is designed to know Joy, on a regular basis. The cord of Joy, is the consistent strength that God designed man to resonate in. God counted it ‘all’ Joy, because Joy for man is the contrast of his misery and sin. Jesus went to a cross, to save men and women from all those things that steal Joy from being the consistent thread of are lives.

Joy, comes through being received by and in love. Jesus knows what every individual uniquely needs, despite the sin and tragedy of their personal journey to date. Saul the Pharisee heard the cords, the moment Ananias spoke, according to the consistency of the prophets ministry: I am Jesus, who saves men from their sins – brother!

Am I my brothers keeper? Having been received by love, Saul heard music and dancing in the words, as the warmth from Ananias’s hands was absorbed. Pauls first lesson in discipleship was the consistency of the nature of Salvation and its cords of Joy – the obedience of both men under the direction of Almighty God, revealed the heart beat of the music and the dance.

Paul was filled with the Spirit of Joy, it removed from his sight partiality and its next of kin, ‘legalkillabelism’ – religious cannibalism.

The Word of God, spoken to Ananias concerning Sauls life, is outworked, because God is not a God of partiality – what God has done for one, through his Son’s better sacrifice, he has done for all! Pauls was ordained a minister of what he had seen, for ‘all’, whether in regal palaces on Mars hill, or lame beggars of pagan, far away lands.

The obedience of both men! The obedience manifested the consistency of Gods nature unto all men. Obedience is a sacrifice God is well pleased with, as it reveals the Son of his Love.

Paul was lead by the hand, into the City and street that God had instructed him to go.

Ananias is commanded to lay his hands upon Paul, that his eyes might be opened again.

Lead by the hand, to have your sight returned through another mans hands. Through another mans obedience. Obedience, met obedience due to the divine intervention of Jesus, despite the sin and tragedy of Sauls life to date.

The hands of Jesus where stretched out upon the Cross, nailed there by other men’s sins. His obedience, fully revealed the consistency of his Father heart: ‘Forgive them, Today you will be with me in paradise, It is Finished, all back into my Fathers hands’.

A far better cry than the blood of Abel, transformation of the heart through the Joy of God, who is exceedingly well pleased with the sacrifice of his Son – as it enables him to save men and women through the power of his blood line/life alone. By Grace you are saved & that not through yourselves, it is the gift of God.

Freedom and liberty are universal qualities, obedience to God sets prisoners free and their households. The Jailer of Philippi hadn’t heard the singing, but he heard that the will of God is no ‘self harming’ unto man and that is a universal truth unto ‘all’ men. They had all stayed in that prison, as the jailor needed to be set free. Paul understood this principle of obedience and liberty, as his own jail keys had been dropped as a man spake down his ear: ‘Brother’.

Obedience to the God of liberty, sets other captives free. ‘I am my brothers keeper’

Obedience due to the weight of the law, is not a reflection of the original light that is life. Obedience due to the law, is hardly possible due to the corruption within.

The only obedience under the law, is a confession of sin.

The obedience of Jesus is greater than the law, as he had no sin. The obedience of Jesus is the revelation of Gods great heart again. Worship & truth are not complimentary, they are a part of the whole. The truth that sets free, is that God has shared his Son, to make men wise again. God withheld nothing from man through his first commandment, it was a lie received concerning the consistent and in-partial nature of the Godhead that corrupted man from sharing in the Joy of a generous God: ‘Son you are ever with me & I that I have is yours’.

Obedience met obedience and joy filled their temples. Obedience met obedience and he rejoiced along with his entire house that he had believed in God. The half of my goods, I shall give to the poor.

The Eunuch, Paul and the Jailor where all baptized at once. Obedience to the message of liberty and life. Obedience is love returning to loves source, Joy eternal.

In Samaria, they had believed him due to his words.

He came again to Cana in Galilee, where he had made the water wine.

His own mother, had been instrumental in relying the importance of believing him on the basis of his words. She instructed them correctly, ‘Whatsoever, he says unto you, do it’

Mary knew her Son, and she knew he was a servant. His statement to her, she knew was consistent with his nature – she knew his servant heart was in-partial. Her instruction to the servants was grounded in decades of consistent observation of her sons life. He was a guest at the wedding but that didn’t stop him from being the head servant.

Jesus, spoke to the official in the manner he did, to reaffirm that he had come to this earth as a servant to make known the heart of his Father.

The second sign was consistent, taking God at his word is fullness. Believing Gods word is fullness.

Jesus deepened in this official his faith in the word of God. Jesus gave him a bigger horizon through not going with him to personally raise his son.

Jesus wanted to foster a faith within this man, that believe God and was able to ask God in faith, whether he was in Galilee or Judea.

A prophets ministry is the testimony of Jesus – And Jesus has come to save all men. He had come down to reveal the Father unto all men, in all places and at all times.

‘Sir, come down before my child dies’ – has he not come down, Immanuel.

This official had not understood the roots of prophesy.

The Father of the faith, Abraham, believed that God would come down and provide himself a sacrifice. He believed that God would raise his son from the dead to fulfill his covenant promises. His obedience to Gods word, enabled God to give witness to the ministry of his eternal Son, to come down to earth as a sacrifice for the sins of the whole world.

The official did not understand that Jesus was the fulfillment of prophesy, that Jesus was doing all things to fulfill the promises of God made to men of old. Is he not consistent, to his own word, to his own nature. Is he not a God of impartiality, was not the blessing for ‘all’ every family.

Despite being in his home region, Jesus was intended on deeming their faith in understanding the word of prophesy: Go, your son will live.

This father had his faith in the word of God strengthened by Jesus maintaining its all sufficiency.

Your Son will live, a clear word of truth. This official was hearing a servant and a kingdom he had never heard before. Coming to this man with a request, brought forth the sharing of truth, of Gods Word with him. Jesus as with Nicodemus, his own mother and the women at the well, treated this ‘Official’ consistently- the emphasis was on all that had been promised in Gods ‘word’ having come down to dwell again in man – that which had originally been intended. This is a far greater mystery and sign than any other miracle – God himself saving people. Hear Him.

Had he not come down so that Sons may live, live as God had originally intended.

A faithful servant to his Father. Establishing men into the full stature of his word, to know the Father as he knows the Father: ‘Go; your son will live’ – Go and take the message that Jesus is the savior of the world unto Judea, Samaria and the ends of the earth.
